Speak Easy Toastmasters Install New Officers for 2009 - 2010
Mr. John Paredes is the new president of the Speak Easy Toastmasters club.

CHAPEL HILL, NC, July 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mr. Paredes, a Chapel Hill-based graphic designer, was officially installed as president on Saturday, July 11, during the club's weekly meeting held at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Paredes succeeds Kim Piracci, who served as the inaugural president since the club was chartered in February 2008. "Kim was resolute after forming our club and was instrumental in the club being recognized by Toastmasters International as a President Distinguished Club, an honor rarely achieved by first-year clubs," said Mr. Paredes. "One of my goals is to increase awareness of the Speak Easy Toastmasters club within the community. The mission of our club is to provide members the opportunity to improve their communication and leadership skills which foster self-confidence and personal growth."

Ms. Piracci will continue to serve the club in an advisory role as immediate past president. Other members holding officer roles this year include: Vaughn Greene - Vice President, Education, Swarna Reddy - Vice President, Membership, Michael Piracci - Vice President, Public Relations, Christine Cox - Secretary, Suzanne Chaney - Treasurer, and George Feller - Sergeant at Arms.

The installation of the new officers was performed by Mr. Patrick Curly, Division E Governor, who reported that Speak Easy was one of only 12 clubs (out of 157) in District 37 to achieve all 10 points in Toastmaster's Distinguished Club Program.
