"The Power of Shamanic Healing from the Inside Out" on March 29 "Why Shamanism Now?" Radio Show
On her radio show "Why Shamanism Now? A Practical Path to Authenticity", shaman and host Christina Pratt talks about how shamanic work helps heal our outer world by working with and healing our inner world, and vice versa.
RHINEBECK, NY, March 25, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Streaming live on the Co-Creator Radio Network on Tuesday, March 29, at 11 a.m. Pacific time/2 p.m. Eastern time, on her show "Why Shamanism Now?: A Practical Path to Authenticity," shaman and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt tells listeners that shamanic healing skills can be used to address the suffering of humanity. Whether caused through human action, like war or drug use, or natural events, like earthquakes or tsunamis, shamanic healing practices can effectively address the complex energetic relationships that lead to much of the suffering that persists in spite of technology and modern medicine. "As we address the healing needed outside of ourselves, we are shown the need for healing within," explains Pratt. "As we address and transform the need for healing within, the need for the outer world to reflect back our suffering is relieved."
In this episode of "Why Shamanism Now?" titled "The Power of Shamanic Healing from the Inside Out", Pratt says that shamanism is unique in its ability as a healing form to translate effectively between the worlds of outer healing and inner healing. The shamanic healing forms work to bring relief to the outer world, like healing the pain and danger held in earth that was used as a battlefield. They also work to bring relief to the inner world, like healing the pain and anxiety held in the body of the child that was the battlefield of divorcing parents. "As above so below; as below so above; as within so without; as without so within." According to Pratt, following this hermetic principle, shamanism helps us to create health and wholeness within so that the without no longer needs to reflect our broken, lost souls, and peace and interconnection below so that we can respond to disaster with the grace of above.
Christina Pratt is an authentic, non-traditional contemporary shaman. In practice since 1990, she specializes in mending the soul and transforming the parts of life that feel impossible. A teacher of exceptional clarity, humor, and inspiration, Pratt brings the power of shamanism into the practical grasp of anyone willing to take responsibility for improving the quality of their life. Her well-received book, An Encyclopedia of Shamanism (Rosen), is an 800-page, two-volume set with over 750 in-depth entries that clearly discuss the basic concepts of shamanism, methods, and traditions of over 50 different shamanic peoples. Pratt is the founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing in Portland, OR, and New York, NY, creator of the original Foundations of Shamanism and Shamanic Healing course at the University of Minnesota, and a frequent and honored speaker for the American Holistic Medical Association.
