Behavioral Tech Announces Eight Comprehensive Training Programs for Mental Health Professionals this Fall; Features Dr. Marsha Linehan's Materials for Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Behavioral Tech, which is the only company authorized to utilize Dr. Marsha Linehan's materials for training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), announced eight training programs for mental health clinicians and agencies this Fall around the U.S.

SEATTLE, WA, August 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mental health professionals around the United States can learn state of the art compassionate and evidence-based treatments for complex and severe mental disorders through Behavioral Tech LLC Fall Training Session, which is offering seven comprehensive two-day training programs and one five-day Foundational DBT Training course.

Founded by Marsha M. Linehan, Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., ABPP, Behavioral Tech trains mental health care providers and treatment teams who work with complex and severely disordered populations to use compassionate, scientifically valid treatments and to implement and evaluate these treatments in their practice setting. Dr. Linehan is widely known as the treatment developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is recognized as the leading treatment approach for individuals with severe, difficult-to-treat disorders.

Behavioral Tech announced that its Fall Training Session will feature the most experienced and outstanding trainers in the field of DBT. Two day training workshops are set for Minneapolis, Greenwich, Connecticut, Denver, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, Portland, Oregon, and Las Vegas. Treating Anxiety Disorders in Multi-Problem Clients with BPD:
How, When, & Why to Use Exposure Procedures in DBT

Dates: September 15-16, 2011
Trainers: Melanie Harned, Ph.D. and Annie McCall, M.A., LMHC
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
This two-day training will be a highly practical, applied workshop that provides participants with a thorough working knowledge of the common principles and procedures of exposure therapies for anxiety disorders. Emphasis will be placed on how to use formal exposure procedures to treat anxiety among severe and multi-problem BPD clients receiving DBT.

Five-Day Foundational DBT Training Course
Dates: October 2-6, 2011
Trainers: Charles Swenson, M.D. and Melanie Harned, Ph.D.
Location: Portland, Maine
This five-day training is designed specifically for individual or group therapists who are members of an Intensively Trained team but who have not completed Intensive Training themselves

Dates: October 13-14, 2011

This two-day training covers the fundamentals of running a skills training group. Participants learn how to set up a group, set group goals and guidelines, use effective teaching methods, be a co-leader, identify and solve common problems in skills groups, make skills lectures come alive, give meaningful homework assignments, and review homework assignments in a way that promotes active engagement with different client populations and settings

Mindfulness, Willingness and Radical Acceptance in Psychotherapy
Dates: October 17-18, 2011

Location: Denver, Colorado
This training will be both experiential and tutorial, consisting of practice and discussion of various mindfulness exercises and practices (both in and outside of the seminar) combined with lecture and discussion of strategies for teaching each of the mindfulness skills. The workshop is intended for therapists using all approaches and is not aimed specifically at DBT or CBT therapists.
